YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF NIGERIA – Men do not light candles and put them under buckets.

The positive transformation of our country at this time is God’s idea, and it ought to be done according to God’s counsels. That is the more reason why the Church must rise up to teach Government what to do, how to do it, and why they should do it. And this “teaching” must be made public and open such that Government would have no excuse but to follow the course. Indeed, if the people in charge of the affairs of the nation have a God-given understanding, they would be willing to do the right things. It is one thing for the church to say to Government “tackle security challenges, stop Boko Haram, build hospitals, maintain our roads” etc. Yet it is another thing to say to Government, “this is what you can do to tackle security challenges, this is what you can do to stop corruption and fraud, and this is how to do it and why”. The Bible-day prophets, and fathers of our faith, used the latter approach.

I have just used “cut and paste” to lift the paragraph immediately above from my letter dated 13th November 2012, which I sent at that time via DHL to Pastor E. A. Adeboye. I sent similar letters using exactly the same words to Bishop David Oyedepo, Dr. Sam Adeyemi, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, Archbishop Sam Amaga, Archbishop Nicholas Okoh and three other persons.
It has been over four years since I sent out those letters and tracked to verify they were delivered but till date I never received a reply. I even followed up with phone calls and those ministries confirmed receipt of my letters. But no replies – till date.
In another paragraph in those letters, I wrote as follows:
“Indeed, Mr. President may be trying his very best as much as he understands, but at this point in time, there is the need for someone to make the president as well as other political office holders, at all levels, to understand how to truly transform the country.”
That president continued to be in charge of this country for thirty (30) months after I sent out those letter to my “fathers in the Lord.” Hmmmn.
Today, we have yet another president who has a “Change” vision but does not appear to truly understand how to make real change come true . I feel that what I wrote to those “men of God” in regard of the former president is even more applicable to the current one.
This is the 49th month since I have requested for the cooperation the “big-named” pastors in this land to shine the light, and what better opportunity can we have than we presently do as one of us is the Vice-President of this land.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.” Matthew 5: 14 – 15, ESV.
